President’s Message
May is upon us, and still we are in limbo as to when the state is going to open up larger formal gatherings that will facilitate our club’s monthly meetings.
JT’s Tree Tips
The days are longer and warmer, and the sun angle has been sneaking up on us, so we need to get into watering mode now, in earnest, as the growing season is in full swing.
Tree Sales and Some Inspiration
It’s nice to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel now with some awesome news out there. Plus, some trees for inspiration from around the world.
President’s Message
I was just thinking the other day how bonsai and our personal care for our trees and their continued development has brought us all closer with a relationship to the natural tree world of our living environment. Yes, we are caretakers to their vital needs and development.
Bay Area Bonsai Expo
Our local bonsai guru, teacher, artist, and supplies guy Jonas Dupuich is planning an exposition for 2022.
President’s Message
With the weather starting to approach in the 70’s this month and above, spring is certainly in the air for us bonsai enthusiasts who look forward to seeing new growth taking place with our trees. My favorite time of year — a renewal and new season for our plants coming back to life, putting on their new growth and vibrant new green leaves.
JT’s Tree Tips
This is not two years ago. The best we have to hope for is a couple of mist storms. Some winter watering, transplanting, and styling tips.
A Profile and a Show Review
This month’s article features a very special guest article, a short review of the Baikoen Winter Silhouette Virtual Show. Also, your newsletter editor has a special request for help!
President’s Message
As I sit here this early morning wintery day watching the rain outside finally making its presence, I can’t help but think how happy my trees are, finally satisfied and hydrated. Yes, our rains this year have all gone north to Oregon and Washington, leaving the Bay Area with but a few dribbles.
JT’s Tree Tips
Dry as a bone then we get the atmospheric river. Hope they can fill the reservoirs and get us out of the ‘La Niña’ drought trajectory. More winter activities to consider for your trees if they need them.
A Short Film Review and More
A film review, a bonsai exhibit, and a short story about pots.
